A curated time capsule of my favorite eats in San Francisco from 2024-2026. Check it out on Beli
Dumpling Home・Chinese・Hayes Valley
Some of the best dumplings you can get in the United States. It’s a really small shop, around two blocks from the center of Hayes Valley. There’s almost always a wait, but it’s totally worth it. Highly recommend going family-style and make sure to get the Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao.
Bones Bagels・Jewish・Noe Valley
The best bagels I have ever had! Their sourdough bagels are to die for. If you’ve had Apollo in New York City, these are very similar in style (open-top sandwich). I personally think they’re a little bit better but at a premium. Either way, best bagels in the city, second to none.
Outta Sight Pizza・Pizza・Civic Center
I think about DoorDashing Outta Sight at least once per week. Their Ruby Pie with burrata is one of one. It’s New York-style slices with extremely unique flavors. Probably the best slice in the city.
Shizen・Japanese・Mission
The best place for vegan sushi that I’ve ever tried. I would recommend going family-style in a large group and trying all the rolls if you can. Try to get a reservation since they’re always busy.
Dancing Yak・Nepalese・Mission
I was initially thrown off by this place from a bad visit, but the second time I tried it, it really blew my mind. I went family style with my team, and it was incredible. The garlic naan is to die for. Highlights include the kale chaat, mutter paneer, and the tofu-chow mein.
Cocobang・Korean・Union Square
The late-night spot in San Francisco. Open until 4:00 am on weekends, I have probably had Cocobang consecutively for eight weeks in a row at some point. Their Soondubu Jjigae is probably the closest thing to BCD in the Bay Area and always hits the spot after a night out.
Khao Tiew・Thai・West Portal
Beware of the extremely long waits (sometimes up to 3 hours). That being said, it’s probably the best Thai spot in the city if you go during a less demanding hour. Do not skip their Burnt Butter Kaya Toast!
Aziza・Moroccan・Richmond
Everything on the menu is phenomenal, and I would highly recommend their house corn bread. Service is also amazing here.
Dalida・Mediterranean・The Presidio
Their Breaking Bread is the best pita-and-hummus combination I’ve ever had. The bread literally melts in your mouth, and the hummus is so rich and smooth. The ambiance, location, and food make Dalida a San Francisco icon.
Z&Y Restaurant・Szechuan・Chinatown
Iconic Chinatown establishment with mouthwatering Szechuan. I really like their dan-dan noodles. The numbing effect is really pleasant and adds to the dishes here. Make sure to get some of their tea as well.
